Last week I mentioned that Daniel has been very busy with the National Guard... well, he's been out of town for the last two weeks on training, so it's been just me, Della and Bernie holding down the fort for these last couple weeks. Daniel came home on Saturday and we were so glad to see him!

It makes a lot of difference having another set of hands around the house, especially when you have a baby. Not only just doing normal daily things alone can be hard, but I also had to write and turn in my half draft of my capstone by Saturday night... luckily I have been writing around mostly the same subject for all my classes, so I had most of my source material already and was able to write the draft without a whole lot of stress. I stayed late at work one night, and Mama picked up Della from daycare so I could focus and get it done. Now I just have to run the data and do the new research for the second half.
shopping for food and costumes!
Daniel is always afraid that I won't eat while he's gone because he does most of the cooking... I tend to live off of chicken salad and peanut butter sandwiches when he travels. 😂 But luckily my mom kept me fed the first week, then last week I stocked up on sandwiches and was able to keep everyone alive for two weeks by myself!
This week at work has been a bit more laid back, we're done with events for now that our office is in charge of, so I'm looking forward to catching up on stuff and doing some organizing! We have a building that we use for storage that is just a hot mess, so Haley and I have taken on the task of cleaning and organizing it. It will be awesome to have a better space to store all the stuff we use for events and alumni related items so they're not all sitting in our office.
sweet baby!
Della is doing great with weight gain and is getting close to 11 pounds! She's still so tiny, but now is gaining at a good pace. She comes from little people with me being 5 ft and Daniel being 5'7" so what can you expect... She's lost almost all her hair and I think it's coming back blonde! So we'll see if she turns into a little blondie! I had to get her some long sleeve clothes because I mostly just had summery things, and found the cutest little sweaters!
I worked on our Halloween costumes this week and I think they're going to be super cute! I had to replace a wheel on our hand-truck, so Della had her first visit to Harbor Freight! I also got her on video rolling over! She's such a big girl! (just disregard the plywood floors and sound of the washing machine in the background...)
So I'm going to sound real behind the times here... but I just downloaded snap-chat. I've had an account for a while, but couldn't really figure it out, so I deleted the app. Well, now the girls at work are on there (and apparently have been sending me snaps... sorry Elizabeth!) so I decided to jump back on the wagon. It's kinda fun to play with the filters and such, and share pics and videos with my friends... It is honestly just another version of every social media trend out there, but hey, it's fun so if you want to follow me, be friends or whatever you call it... my handle is amyleigh1183. Fair warning: it's mostly going to be pics and videos of my baby... but she's so cute you shouldn't mind!
Next week I'm looking forward to Della's first Halloween and trying to squeeze in some cotton field pics before the weather gets too cold!
