Della Does the Pumpkin Patch!

Our little pumpkin!

I have a keurig at work now, so I had to bring my fave coffee cup!
This week has been a bit more laid back, recovering from homecoming at work and getting into a routine at home. I've found that in order for me to get the things done for the next day I have to do them immediately when I get home! So as soon as I walk in the door I unload Della's daycare bag and my pump parts and start washing and sterilizing... then I make out her bottles for the next day, restock the diaper bag if needed, while Daniel cooks dinner (best husband ever!). Having this routine has helped us get in the bed earlier and feel like our lives are not completely insane... Della usually goes to sleep about 8:30 p.m., giving us about an hour to wrap up and get ready for bed and the next day as well. We haven't turned on the television all week and it feels wonderful! We cancelled our DirectTV months ago because we realized we just didn't need it. Netflix is usually what we watch, if we watch TV, and we have an antenna to pick up the local channels. It has saved so much money not having the satellite, we just have internet because lets be real, that's all we use anyway.

I had another paper due for my student affairs class, and was able to work on it Friday and turn it in. I'm doing well in that class, and I'm so happy that so far it hasn't been too heavy of a workload... with taking my capstone class as well I needed more of a laid back course... I can 't wait until December when I can call this degree done!

Daniel was off work Monday for Columbus Day so he ordered all the flooring for our house! We are not close to putting it down yet, but I got spooked when they discontinued the tile we picked out for the bathroom and didn't want that to happen with the wood floor. Since we have already laid that floor in Della's room we can't exactly change it... so I feel good that we have that ordered! Here's a before/after photo of her nursery since I don't think I've shared that yet... We did this all ourselves with the help of our parents and some friends! We scraped the ceiling, painted the walls and Daniel and my dad laid the floor. I love how it turned out! I can't wait for the rest of the house to match and not be so 1970s (paneling and brown shag carpet was the overall theme...)

I was off on Friday for UNA's fall break and mainly worked on a paper all day and then got my hair 'did'. My dad watched Della while I was at my appointment then she stayed with my parents while Daniel and I took our weekly date night trip to 'town' aka, Florence. (When you live 40 minutes out, Florence is considered "town" lol!) We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings and shopped around at target for some things we needed.

We have discovered that you can share notes on our phones and it is awesome for making shopping lists! So now we have a shared note that we can add things too and we will both see the updates. Sometimes technology is pretty cool.

snotty baby...
This week Della has had her first snotty nose... I guess it was only a matter of time and a definite since she's started daycare. I got one of those snot-sucker things and it's amazing how much snot is in such a little nose! Hopefully this will pass soon and she'll get to feeling better. She's a trooper though, and is still a happy baby through all the snot!

eyelashes for days!

I've started taking a photo everyday when I drop Della off at school... so cute!

I've been wanted to do something fun for Della's 3 month photos, and we had the afternoon free on Sunday so we went to the pumpkin patch! We have a friend that owns The Belue Place Pumpkin Patch, so my mom and I headed there Sunday afternoon with some fall outfits and a camera! If you are wanting to do the pumpkin patch thing, I highly recommend The Belue Place, it's a great family-run business that has lots of fun stuff to do! We even had one of our cows there for a few years in the petting zoo until she got too big. They have a cafe called The Bonnet that is awesome and is a perfect spot for Sunday lunch.

Della did great for photos! She's such a ham... I love how when she smiles really big one of her eyes squints... It makes me happy that she's so happy! She also rolled over for the first time all by herself! Daniel has accused me of "helping" her roll over before, but she did this all on her own! Mama and I were yelling and I got pictures!

Della and Tony!

Our big girl rolling over!

Hopefully I can get some photos of her in a cotton field... there's one that I'm waiting on it to get good and brown before we do pictures... it's still too green to look like a good cotton field.

I'm so glad that the weather has cooled off a bit. I love this time of year! I'm working on getting our Halloween costumes together, Della is going to be Cinderella (or Cinder-delly as we call her sometimes) and Daniel and I will be the mice! It's going to be so cute!

I'll add 'make Halloween costumes' to my to-do list....

See you next week!
