The Monday-est of Fridays

This week has been a bit crazy... we had another event at work on Friday night and Daniel has been busy with the National Guard, so it's just the girls takin' care of business! I'm so thankful that I have a wonderful support system around me to help when I feel stretched thin. With out our parents and the fact that they are close I don't know what I would do!

capri pjs...she's grown so much!
Della is still doing great at daycare and she's growing like a weed! We've finally broke 10 pounds! There are some pajamas that I remember the first time I put them on I had to roll up the arms and legs... now they are like capri pants on her! I'm trying to cycle through all the cute outfits so that she gets to wear them all before she outgrows them.

It doesn't help things that I've come down with a cold as well. I can't take much while nursing so it's just waiting for this thing to run it's course. Della is still snotty, but it doesn't really seem to phase her. I have the bulb aspirator from the hospital and it works well to get the snot out, but I forked over the $20 for the Fridababy Snotsucker that I've heard is magical... well it is. I think Della is convinced that I'm sucking her brains out, her eyes get huge! 😳 But it gets that stuff out like no other! I know she feels better after I do it.

I had the Monday-est Friday ever this week, running late, then my gas light came on and had to turn around... but I made it! And at least I have a happy little girl to make any day better!

The Alumni Relations crew!
Our event Lions Under the Lights was Friday night, and everything turned out great! It's always stressful pulling off a big event, but with the team we have in our office we can always pull off something great. This event is held on the walkway of Harrison Plaza on UNA's campus under the lights strung across campus. It's a beautiful setting and the weather turned out perfect for a dinner under the stars. It was wonderful to see friends and eat good food! I am so glad I got to see Carol Lyles, the previous alumni director and great friend!

My Mom picked up Della from daycare, then I just stayed with them as well since I had to work late. I think my parents enjoyed having us over for the weekend and it was great getting to spend time with them and they didn't mind all the Della-time as well. 😉 Bernie also stayed over so we had a full house! My dad is famous for his omelets, so we got a good breakfast Saturday morning, I even got to drink my coffee out of the "Mom" mug! We needed a good breakfast, because the flooring for our house came in and my dad and I picked it up and unloaded it at our house. I'm glad to have that in so that I know we can floor the rest of the house when we're ready!

Saturday night we watched football and just relaxed. I was still exhausted from Friday, and it was great to just relax and do nothing.

On Sunday we all went to church and Della wore another one of my dresses. I love that my mom kept a lot of the cute dresses that I wore! We have new playground equipment for the kids so me and Della had to try out a swing! I don't think she was so sure about it... but it was also windy. I think my mom is already pricing one for their house... my dad's not so sure. 😂 After church we ate lunch at The Bonnet and Della got a kitchen tour! It's not many places that you can eat lunch and the owner will babysit, lol! Benefits of a small town I guess... 😄

Della is starting to lose her baby hair, I thought we had missed that trend, but it's started coming out in spots. I think it's coming back in blonde though! We will see! She's getting more fun by the day, laughing and jabbering, rolling over and always has a smile on her face. I got in a cute backpack that I ordered for her for daycare, I just need to get some iron on initials for it. It's a size that she'll be able to use when she gets older too, but for now it will fit 4 bottles perfectly!

This coming week will be full of schoolwork, as I have a half draft of my capstone due on the 28th... Hopefully I can get focused on my topic and be able to write something worthwhile... the topic is interesting to me, so hopefully it won't be too difficult to write. I also need to get on our Halloween costumes...

It's a fun time of year and I can't wait to make all the memories!
