This week was a big one, as I graduated with my masters degree on Saturday! Now I officially have a Master of Professional Studies in Higher Education Administration! I started the program in 2015 so it's taken me two years to complete it. I have to say it feels pretty awesome to accomplish something like this while also working full time, being married, pregnant and then having a newborn! I'm also proud that I was able to keep a 4.0 GPA and be inducted in to the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. People would ask me if I was going to walk in the ceremony and I was like, "heck yeah!" I got a big 'ole medal to wear, you better believe I'm gonna show it off!
After graduation we ate lunch and then went to Mama and Daddy's to have cake and celebrate my graduation and Henry's birthday! Mama got us a fun cake that was 1/2 birthday/ carrot cake and 1/2 graduation/ red velvet! We opened gifts and then just hung out and relaxed until Kellie and Henry had to go back home. It was a great day just relaxing and celebrating!
I am so blessed that I have family and friends that have supported me in getting my education from the very beginning. My parents told be when I was in high school that if I wanted to go to college then they would help me go to do whatever I wanted to do (and then I became an art student 😂). Daddy told me that I needed to help them though, by getting a scholarship and working. These were reasonable requests so I got a scholarship that paid most of my tuition and then I worked part time all through college so that when I graduated I left with absolutely no student debt. I may be proud of my gpa or that I did all this while working, but what I'm really proud of is that I am not in debt for my education. I was able to leave school without that baggage following me and I'm so grateful for that. So, it's possible people. You don't have to have that debt, and if you do, do your best to pay it off quickly because there is not much more discouraging as owing people money. Ok, I'll get off my Dave Ramsey box now, lol!
Cake!
at the Barrel of Crackers
Daniel and I both took off work on Monday, so we got to drop Della off together at daycare and he got to see the routine in case he ever has to do it. Then we got breakfast at Cracker Barrel (wishing we could do this everyday...) then we headed to UNA to do graduation photos! Daniel did a great job taking my pictures, he has a great eye, and it was lots of fun walking around campus with him and getting to be the subject! We shopped around, but really didn't have an exact purpose for the day. We dropped off his mustang to get a recall fixed and just had fun taking the whole day to ourselves.
Della's daily photo-shoot
I want it!
Tuesday we did our usual date night at Sam's and got new pillows! They are memory foam and so far I like them. They also had a fun kid's recliner that Daniel said I couln't get... I always wanted one as a kid, so hopefully these will still be around when Della is about 5.
We had so much fun just walking around aimlessly. It's nice to decompress sometimes and I'm so glad I have someone I can do that with! Daniel and I have so much fun together even when we are doing nothing!
Della has a few Christmas outfits that I'm trying to cycle through so that they all get worn. She grows out of things so fast I want to get as much wear out of them as I can! I'm already boxing up most of her 0-3 month stuff since it's getting too small and it's all warm weather stuff. Hopefully over the break I can go through the clothes I've been given and re-organize her little closet. I only have so much room, so I need to box up all the stuff she can't wear because I'm sure we'll have some to add after Christmas!
The cutest little outfit for church!
Sunday was a great day, we just went to church, had lunch and just hung out at home. It was a cold, rainy day so it was perfect for staying in. Della took a magical 3 hour nap so I got all the gifts wrapped and got to watch some Christmassy movies!
While we were surfing Netflix to find a movie, we came across Mean Girls... Daniel informed me he had never seen it, so we had to watch it immediately! There are so many great lines in that movie... so funny! I told him since they sing Jingle Bell Rock in it, it can qualify as a Christmas movie. After Della woke up and ate it was bath time! She has gotten too big for the baby insert I use in the sink so I just laid a towel in the sink and that worked! She's getting so big, it's crazy she'll be 6 months old in January! Hopefully over Christmas I can get the bathroom cleaned out and finished so that I can use the baby tub in there for her baths.

bath time!
I can't believe next week is Christmas! I can't wait to see Della have her first Christmas, even though she won't know what's going on... It'll be fun for us!!
