This post is going to cover two weeks because I just couldn't get motivated to write last week... but there has been a few fun things that happened!
February 28th we had our staff retreat for work and we got to take a field trip to see the lions at UNA! We got to talk to the lady that takes care of them and get up close and personal. It was amazing to be that close to that big of an animal and when Leo III would roar or growl you could just feel the power!
We found out that Della is not a fan of beards... 😂😂
And she turned 8 months old! It happened to be nice the day I took her photos and we had a nice patch of clover in the yard! She is sitting up great and can army crawl like her daddy! I thought we came away without eating any weeds... but when we got inside she puked up a couple of clovers! She's sneaky, I didn't even see her eat them!! She learns something new everyday and it's so fun to watch. She likes to bounce, and move her head side-to-side when she hears music.
Another big event was the Jason Mraz concert in Huntsville on Sunday night! I've been a fan of Jason since about 2003 after his first album, Waiting For My Rocket To Come, was released. I've seen him in concert five times and each time is better than the last! He is one of the few artists that I've seen that sounds just as good (if not better) in person than on albums. This show was a Solo Acoustic show so it was just him and a guitar. I haven't been listening to much music lately, and of course there's no room on my phone to have music on there, and I had almost forgotten how beautiful his voice is. If you have not ever heard his music I strongly encourage you to check it out. He is an extremely talented guitar player and singer, and just seems like an all-around fun guy. Mine and Daniel's first dance at our wedding was to his song I Won't Give Up and when he played it Sunday night it gave me all the feels.
Kellie got our tickets and got us some great seats! She went with me since I thought Daniel was going to be out of town but ended up not, so he got to have a fun night with the Dells! Kellie has been with me every time I've seen him in concert! We've been to the Ryman twice, Atlanta, Kentucky, and he finally came to Huntsville! This was my kind of concert... the seats were assigned and cushioned, he started on time at 7:30 pm, played for 2 hours, and we were on the way home at 9:45! I was home to put (the still awake) Della to bed. 😂
I've definitely had my fair share of running to the front of the pit to stand at the railing so I was as close as possible to him... but now I like to have a comfy seat and a good view. Being that close to the stage was too loud anyway...

So that's been the biggest events of the past two weeks! I'll leave you with a video from the concert of him singing The Remedy and more photos! (I didn't take this video, just found it on YouTube. But it is from the same concert.)
