Off To Work I Go...

First day staying with Nana!

Well, I survived my first week back to work. I only cried about four times Monday morning, but I made it, and it was actually good to get in some sort of routine after 3 glorious months without one. My mom kept Della the whole week, and they had a great time, as you can see from the photo above! I am blessed to have such wonderful parents close to us to help with anything and everything... whether it be watching baby girl or laying tile...

It took me a few days to get back into the swing of things and wrap my head around what has been done while I was out, and what needs to be done for UNA's upcoming Homecoming weekend. Working in Alumni Relations we are extremely busy during homecoming, so I'm jumping right back into the fire! Haley, Elizabeth and the others in the office did great while I was out and caught me back up Monday morning.

My Mom sent lots of photos to help me through my day...

Nap time at Nana's

Just a swingin'
Being at work and away from Della, I have to pump to keep up my milk supply (and not explode)... so I made a fun sign for my cubicle to let people know they may not want to turn the corner. 😂 Luckily I have these things called Freemie cups that allow me to stay completely dressed while pumping so that I don't have to hide away in a room for 20 minutes every three hours. This way I can still get work done! (and I'm not getting anything for linking them here, cause really only like 5 people read this blog... Hi Mom!... I just think they're awesome and a great investment for new moms).

And Della started laughing this week!! But mostly just for Nana... check out this cuteness!

I love this little onesie
After Della did not gain enough weight last week, we started supplementing with formula and that was the ticket! She gained 13 oz in ONE WEEK! So we are back on track, and she is much more content with a full belly! She is napping longer and has gotten on more of a schedule with her eating/napping which will make it easier when she starts daycare.
Those formula poops though... dang!
A happy Della after learning she passed her weight test!

She's the only one that wakes up happy...

She loves her Nana!

Worn out!
Saturday morning contemplation...
Friday night we went to Florence and bought all the stuff we would need to tile the bathroom. I am so happy to have some progress! We let Della stay at my parent's while we went shopping and I'll tell ya, that was just almost too long! I had never been away from her for that long and we had planned to sit down somewhere and eat but ended up driving through Rick's and taking it to Mama and Daddy's to eat. I had to get back to my baby! Daniel was like: "Wow, you're really sad without your Della!" and I was.. I've never felt like that before, and I just NEEDED to get back to her and hold her. It's crazy the amount of love you feel for your child, and so wonderful! I was also exhausted from working all week and then walking around Lowe's, so when we got back I was nursing her and we both fell asleep! I woke up when Mama picked up Della and then we went home and straight to bed.

Laying the cement board
Saturday morning we started on the bathroom. With the help of my parents we got the cement board down and ready for the tile. We also went back to Lowe's and bought a vanity. That was a circus... if you would have walked up on me and Daniel discussing that purchase you would have thought we crazy! Because of how the pipes come up out of our floor we really didn't have many options. After much discussion, we decided on one and luckily it was on sale! We were able to buy it and make it back in time to watch the football game!

He works for Whitt's BBQ payment... can't beat that!

Tiles laid out!
Sunday afternoon I laid out the tiles to make sure we had enough and to just see how they all looked together. This was my job since I'm the "art kid"... We have plenty extra, which is great since this tile is discontinued! Daniel found a coupon for a tile saw and we decided that being able to cut the tile rather than score and break it would be a better option. So he went to town to get the saw while I got other things done for the workweek.
Testing the tile saw...

watch those fingers!

Daniel's worst nightmare: a big horrible jigsaw puzzle.

Sweet baby at church!
All in all it was a good week, even if I did have to leave my baby for work... we made progress on the house and got into a semi-routine with Della. Next week Daniel's dad and Carolyn will keep Della on Monday and Tuesday and then she starts daycare on Wednesday! 😨 Maybe I won't have another come-apart... know she'll be fine...

It's crazy that Della is 3 months old! She's just so fun! Now she's holding her head up great, smiling, laughing and trying to talk to us! (Mama swears she said Nana...) During tummy time this week she held her head up so good, and started to roll over! I'm sure she'll be moving around before we know it!
