Mom-Hacks and Housework

#momhack

ceiling texture
Last Monday we were off, so we worked on the house of course! You saw in last week's blog the process of taking down the popcorn ceiling, and this week I finished the texture on the kitchen ceiling. There are still a few spots to touch up, but we are moving along nicely! Sunday we started priming the living room and kitchen and I'll try to finish that up this weekend. Doing this all ourselves takes time and I tend to get impatient... but we are saving money and learning alot by doing things ourselves. I just need to be patient and realize it will get done when it gets done!

I've came up with a couple of #momhacks this week... Della is more mobile now, rolling around (and started crawling some!) so we needed a way to contain her since our floors are still plywood. Off to Pinterest I go and I found the great idea of putting an inflatable kiddie pool on the floor with padding and blankets and such. It works like a charm! She gets some independence and play time and we don't have to worry about her eating plaster off the floor...yet.

Also in the mornings now instead of nursing Della I can give her a bottle since she can hold it herself! This saves me time and I can still nurse her at night and have that cuddle time. I put her in the rock and play and she can watch me getting ready and eat her breakfast! She's a little stinker though and will flip over in it if I walk away!

I gave Bernie a bath and trim on Saturday and I don't think I did too bad of a job! I just trimmed her face because you couldn't see her eyes... She had an appointment with a real groomer on the 10th. But She looks and feels much better!

We had a normal week, just working and doing the normal daily things. We can't really work on the house at night because there's just no time after we get ready for the next day, eat dinner, and getting Della to bed. It's amazing how fast the evening goes!

Oh, and I found a home for the piano!! Yay! A lady at work got it for her son, who actually plays. I'm glad it went to a good home, and now I have so much more room!

I guess that's all, enjoy the photos below and we'll see ya next week!
