Springtime and Standing!

I've got to start back writing every week, it's hard to remember what you've done over two weeks sometimes!

The past couple weeks have been full of springtime weather in Alabama (aka Tornadoes) and rain. Last week we got a half day at work due to bad weather coming in, so we got to spend some time down at Dan's house in case we needed to go to the basement.

Della stayed at my parent's house on Saturday so that we could work on the house, and we got all of the kitchen and living room primed! It is so much brighter now that there is paint on the walls and everything isn't panelling. Della had an adventure while she was visiting Nana and Papa, she got to ride in the Gator down to the pasture to check the fence, then they ran out of gas! So they all got to walk back to the house and come back on the 4 wheeler with gas for the gator... You just never know what you'll get into on the farm!

The next weekend we worked on the house again and I got all the texture on the ceilings so that we can start putting color on the walls and do the final paintwork! This texture is a lot of work and takes a while, so I feel like my arm is going to fall off when I finally finish! But I'm so glad I got it all done, and so thankful for my parents for watching Della so that I could!

She is growing so fast! Now she is pulling up on stuff and she can get up on her knees by pulling up on the crib rails... we'll have to lower the mattress in the next week.She stood up at my mom and dad's while holding on to a walker this weekend! I seriously think she's going to skip crawling and just go straight to walking. She is also on the edge of getting out of the little swimming pool we have her contained in. She can reach over and touch the floor! Hopefully we will be laying our floors in the next few weeks and I can finally let her run amuck!

She jabbers ALL the time and is saying a lot of "dada da da" instead of "mama ma ma" now. She is also the best little mimic... In church my dad squinched up his face at her and she did it right back! I think she's a pretty smart one.

We went to a friends baby shower at church and Della was obsessed with the big inflatable duck they used as decoration! So of course Nana already has one on order. She would get so excited when she saw it!

I also had a dentist appointment that Della tagged along to. I had a good checkup, and she got a rubber ducky for being a good girl! She still has just the two bottom teeth, but I can see the top ones coming in! I've stopped nursing because of said teeth, but I'm still pumping to feed in a bottle. It's slowing down though, so I probably won't be pumping much longer. My original goal was for her to get breastmilk for a year, but it looks like it will be more like 10 months. I still think it's great that I have been able to do it that long! And she is definitely a healthy girl! I have some milk frozen, so that will help me get a little bit farther. I won't miss having to pump though...

I took Bernie to a new groomer and was very pleased! They even take photos! So she got her Easter pics made :) She gets very nervous at the groomer, but this shop has less dogs at one time, so it's a little calmer, and Bernie did great! It's also closer to the house, so I don't have to kill time in Florence like in the past. So check out Janie's Pet Grooming in Center Star if your pet needs their hair did!

I've also been looking at carriers for our upcoming trip to Gatlinburg, and I actually found one that I like for a decent price! It's this Infantino carrier, and is less bulky that the others I've seen. It seems to work well, so we'll see how it does on the streets of Gatlinburg!

All in all I feel like we are making progress around the house and Della is learning and growing like a weed! I did photos of her in her Easter dress, but I'll have to post them next week. I've got them processed, but haven't had time to really go through and pick our my favorites. But believe me, they're super cute!
